Early Christmas Shopping

I shopped for Christmas presents yesterday (for my family, god kids)- early Christmas shopping, that is. I have not gotten anything for myslef yet, except for sanitary napkins and panty liners hehehe.

Somewhere, deep inside of me, hides this little girl who just loves to shop. Normally I keep her gagged and bound in my deepest recesses (not that deep recess, jerks), but in December I will let her come out to play. That means, I will shop for myself in December. And for my man too! Yay! :D

Geez, I spent much today. Whew!

T-Mobile G1

Finally, I got to see and touch the T-Mobile G1 phone yesterday at the pantry, where they also introduced this phone in the office. This first ever Android phone was launched in the US yesterday, October 22, 2008.

Google and T-Mobile has joined forces to bring the mobile phone to unleash Google innovation to have a great experience with the web on a mobile phone.

The G1 has great google features such as Google search, Gmail, Google Maps and more. And T-Mobile is the first carrier to bring Google innovation to a mobile phone. It’s features include a large touch screen as trackball and keyboard, making it easy to use the phone in a variety of ways.
G1 was built in a new open source platform called Android. With that platform, the phone will be able to add innovative nw features and applications as they are developed.

Android is a software for a mobile phones that has key applications and operating system. Google developed android that could work only with their services. and now they are sharing it with this mobile phone. So, to make it easier for you to understand, android is an open source. Meaning, everyone can create programs for it and distributed them. And for people who has the G1, they can purchase or download some of the applications from Android Market.

I know that the G1 phone is not a perfect phone where you can have access for everything, it doesn’t have a complete feature as well. The only features of this phone are:

  • 3G
  • IM/text
  • Email
  • Camera 3 MegaPixel (no flash)
  • Video playback only, no recording
  • Music Player
  • Amazon music, downloads
  • Customizable home screen
  • GPS integrated with Google Maps
  • 1GB memmory card, it could support up to 8 GB
  • QWERTY keyboard and trackball
  • Sync to Google applications such as Gmail, Calendar, Google Maps, Google Talk
  • Touc screen
  • Supports HTML
  • WiFi internet
  • YouTube

It does not supports computer synchronization, Microsoft Email, video recording and HotSpot calling.

Seems like this must be the best iPhone competitor? Nah… I’d still go for the iPhone. :). Anyhow, things that you love about the World Wide Web is on this mobile phone, at least.

The More You Know

Fun Facts:

  1. Did you know that three cups of popped popcorn is a single serving of carbohydrates?
  2. Did you know that a vegan diet is cholesterol-free, because cholesterol is created in the animal body and therefore is only present in animal products, like eggs, dairy, meat and others?
  3. Did you know that a pound of lettuce contains more protein than a pound of steak?
  4. Did you know that by eating a vegan diet, you are reducing your ecological footprint by up to ten times - and that’s not even taking into account that you can also easily reduce the amount of waste you produce and the distance your food travels to get to you?
  5. Did you know that recycling is a step, but you’d be better off not purchasing consumables in the first place? The cleaning process that recyclables undergo uses a lot of fresh water.
  6. Did you know that water is only a renewable resource when we don’t abuse it.
